About

Claudia Esnouf has a Latin American and South African background. She grew up bilingual in Chile and Brazil before moving to Scotland to study. Her writing career began in Edinburgh, where she wrote travel articles for The Skinny and The Scottish Catholic Observer

She has degrees in Art History and English Literature, and a Masters in Victorian Literature from the University of Edinburgh. She worked at the University of Edinburgh Chaplaincy promoting metal health and wellbeing across campus, and as an Editor at Lifebook, working on memoirs and biographies.

She has a passion for exploring new cultures and following long-distance trails. In one year, she embarked on a long-distance walking journey through the Caucasus, Nepal, India and Europe, walking over 1,800 kilometres. These trails included The Transcaucasian Trail, The Annapurna Circuit, The Camino de Santiago and The Portuguese Way. During this journey she faced a rampant water buffalo, freezing glacier crossings and a night camping in a minefield.

Claudia currently lives in London, and busies herself finding writing gaps during the day when she’s not running after her two toddlers.

Her first book, WALK LIKE A GIRL, is a travel memoir which will be published by Sparsile Books in 2025.
