About
Cynthia Rogerson is a Californian Scottish writer living in the Highlands near Inverness. Winner of the V.S.Pritchett Prize, she’s published a memoir, five novels and a collection of short stories. I Love You Goodbye was translated into six languages, short-listed for Scottish Novel of the Year and dramatized for BBC radio. Wait for Me Jack, published under Addison Jones, was a Sunday Times top summer read. Her memoir titled Wah! was shortlisted for the Highland Book Prize 2022. Her books are available in paperback, e book and audio book. She’s supervised on the Edinburgh University Creative Writing program and holds a Royal Literary Fund Fellowship.
She is predominantly interested in exploring family relationships, identity and displacement in society. She sometimes attributes these interests to a state of chronic homesickness.
She squeezes writing time in when she can, especially on trains and early mornings at home. Strong coffee is essential, and travelling on a regular basis seems to be essential too. She still dreams of producing the Great Novel.
